Sorbsan Plus

A 2-in-1 combination dressing incorporating a Sorbsan contact layer with a super absorbent secondary layer. The Sorbsan layer gels on contact with exudate, providing a soft, conformable, non-adherent interface with the wound bed whilst excess exudate is drawn through the gelled alginate into the secondary layer. Sorbsan Plus can be used as a primary dressing or as a secondary dressing in combination with Sorbsan Flat, Ribbon or Packing. The efficacy of Sorbsan Plus to promote haemostasis (clotting) is significantly better than other alginates tested.

When to use Sorbsan Plus:

Sorbsan Plus may be used on wounds where there is a high level of exudate. Sorbsan Plus is suitable for management of:

• Partial thickness and full thickness wounds
• Arterial, venous, and diabetic leg ulcers
• Pressure ulcers
• Post-operative wounds
• Fungating lesions
• Following toe-nail avulsions
• Pressure ulcers
• Donor and graft sites
• Traumatic wounds
