Hydrex Pink Spray

Hydrex Pink spray is a chlorhexidine gluconate skin disinfectant for pre-operative skin preparation prior to minor surgical procedures. It combines fast action from its alcohol content with a lasting effect from chlorhexidine gluconate.

The alcohol content provides immediate antiseptic action, while chlorhexidine gluconate provides a barrier effect that persists for at least 6 hours. It is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, with additional activity against some fungi and viruses.

Supplied as a 200ml spray for application to intact skin, Hydrex spray is pink in colour so clinicians can see which areas have been treated. It is licensed by the MHRA and classified as a General Sales List (GSL) medicine.
