Williams Medical, one of the UK's leading medical suppliers to primary care, today announces a new long-term partnership with The Eve Appeal, the UK's leading gynaecological cancer charity, to help raise awareness of women's health and support life-saving work in the prevention and early diagnosis of gynaecological cancers.
Launching during Cervical Screening Awareness Week, the partnership reflects Williams Medical's ongoing commitment to supporting healthcare professionals delivering essential women's health services across the UK and builds on the company's long-standing support for cervical cancer charities, to which it has donated more than £100,000 over the years.
As part of the new partnership, Williams Medical will donate 5p from every box of PELIspec® speculums sold, creating an ongoing fundraising stream to support The Eve Appeal's work in raising awareness of the five gynaecological cancers, improving knowledge of symptoms, providing trusted information and support services, and funding pioneering research.
PELIspec® is a premium, single-use vaginal speculum designed to support healthcare professionals carrying out cervical screening procedures. Cervical screening remains one of the most effective ways to prevent cervical cancer, yet uptake rates continue to vary across the country. Through this partnership, Williams Medical and The Eve Appeal hope to encourage greater awareness of the importance of screening while helping to fund initiatives that empower women with the information and confidence to prioritise their gynaecological health.
A Continued Commitment to Women's Health
The collaboration with The Eve Appeal forms part of Williams Medical's long-term commitment to supporting organisations working to improve women's health outcomes and increase awareness of cervical cancer prevention.
Louise Baker, CEO at Williams Medical, said:
"Supporting women's health has always been an important part of what we do at Williams Medical. Healthcare professionals rely on products such as PELIspec® every day to deliver vital cervical screening services, and we recognise the important role we can play in supporting the wider conversation around prevention, awareness and early diagnosis.
Having donated more than £100,000 to cervical cancer charities over the years, we are proud to build on that legacy through a long-term partnership with The Eve Appeal. By making a donation for every box of PELIspec® sold, we can create a sustainable way of supporting an organisation that is making a real difference to the lives of women across the UK."
Supporting The Eve Appeal's Vital Mission
The Eve Appeal is the UK's leading charity dedicated to saving lives through the prevention and early diagnosis of the five gynaecological cancers: cervical, ovarian, womb, vulval and vaginal cancer. Through education, awareness campaigns, nurse-led information services and research funding, the charity works to ensure more people understand the signs, symptoms and importance of early intervention.
Funds raised through the partnership will help The Eve Appeal continue delivering trusted information and support, while driving forward research and awareness programmes that improve outcomes for women and people with gynae organs across the UK.
Athena Lamnisos, CEO at The Eve Appeal, said:
"We are delighted to be partnering with Williams Medical and working together on our shared ambition of driving forward cancer prevention. This partnership will help us continue to fund research, raise awareness, and provide support to help save lives from gynaecological cancers."
