This test helps with the diagnosis of patients with suspected heart failure, monitoring of patients with compensated left ventricular dysfunction and the risk stratification of patients with acute coronary syndromes.

Specifications

• Reaction time - 12 minutes
• Measuring range - 60 – 9,000pg/mL
• Cut off values - <125pg/mL = exclusion of non-acute heart failure, <300pg/mL = exclusion of acute heart failure
• Consideration of age-stratified cut-points for diagnosis of (=CHF likely considering confounding factors) -  900pg/mL, >75 years > 1,800pg/mL
