Infection Control Service
The General Medical Services (or APMS) Contract held by every surgery requires that:
"The premises, equipment and arrangements for infection control and decontamination to meet the minimum national standards"
2004 GMS Contractual and Statutory Requirements, No. 7
This supports the responsibility of all healthcare providers to reduce the risks of cross infection and the prevention of Health Care Associated Infections (HCAI).
The requirements are likely to become more stringently monitored and inspected when the Care Quality Commission requires all healthcare providers to meet new registration standards.
Williams Medical Supplies are now able to provide Infection Control audits and advice for your surgery.
Working with the support of Primary Care Trusts, Williams Medical Supplies has developed a range of infection control audit tools and procedures specifically for Primary Care.
