The Clearview Simplify D-dimer test is a rapid test for the qualitative detection of D-dimer in human whole blood (either capillary or venous) and plasma.  The test is an aid in the assessment and evaluation of patients with suspected disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).

When used in conjunction with a validated pre-test probability score and diagnostic algorithm such as Wells, the Clearview Simplify D-dimer test can be used to safely rule-out VTE in low or moderate risk patients.  It is estimated that only 20 to 30% of patients suspected actually have DVT.
